Sudden Cardiac Death Among Student Athletes

Sudden cardiac arrest, or sudden cardiac death: we talk bout it in nearly every course, especially in sort related courses and courses for teachers: while it is luckily rare in young athletes, but when it happens, it’s often deadly. It comes without warning, no history of heart problems and suddenly a young, active and athletic person is on the ground, dead.

The topic cannot be raised often enough to raise awareness, such as in this article and video. And to remind everyone of the importance of having defibrillators on-site for such an event (and have people be trained): defibrillators can increase survival rates up to ten times!
