This course was designed for coaches, referees, athletes or parents involved in sports with children. It covers a wide range of first aid and life saving topics.

• Initial assessment of an emergency
• Unconsciousness, heart attack & cardiac arrest
• Emergency numbers
• Wound care & bleeding
• Asthma
• Life-threatening allergic reactions
• Insect stings & animal bites
• Seizures, concussion & head injury
• Injuries to bones and soft tissues
• Heat-related illness and dehydration

The course is very interactive with plenty of hands-on practical exercises and scenarios. Practical skills include

• Recovery Position
• CPR training and use of a defibrillator
• Heimlich Manoeuvre
• Administering an EpiPen®
• Demonstration of First Aid equipment

Participants gain a Sports First Aid certificate, which is valid for two years.
