Every caregiver and teacher should have a good knowledge of first aid to be able to act appropriately when a child in his/her care is ill or injured. Luckily, only a small number of cases involve life-threatening injuries. But for those few times, when this is not the case, the first minutes can make the difference between life and death.

FIRST AID ON CHILDREN
FOR TEACHERS & CAREGIVERS
This course is fully adjusted to the needs and requirements of the teaching and caregiving environment and covers all basic first aid procedure as well as BLS (CPR). Defibrillation can be included upon request and is recommended if a school or day care facility is equipped with an AED. The course curriculum can be amended to include training for specific conditions of students in a school, e.g. diabetes or anaphylaxis training.
This workshop incorporates practical small group activities.
Certification is available upon successful completion of written and practical assessments.
Duration: full day course

This programme set by the American Academy of Pediatrics offers teachers and caregivers a hands-on training for the school environment. To ensure teachers of middle and high school students have the same preparation for accidents or illnesses, I have adjusted the programme and combined it with adult first aid components.
PedFACTS certification is available upon successful completion of written and practical assessments.
Duration: pre-course online work (approx. 4 hours) and full day course

NEW - DIABETES TRAINING
This specialised training is suitable for use in all types of schools, child care centres, sports clubs, the workplace, and any interested individual. Participants will learn to understand What Diabetes is, the impact it has on daily life and will be able to recognise and manage emergency situations caused by Diabetes.
Information covered: types of diabetes, insulin injections and insulin pumps, emergencies caused by diabetes; demonstration, training and practice with a diabetes training kit including insulin injections, lancets for blood sugar control, and glucagon training.
Duration: from 2 hours

ALLERGY & ANAPHYLAXIS TRAINING
It is very worrying for caregivers and teachers when they have a child with a severe allergy in their care. Often teachers are left on their own, without adequate training to recognise symptoms of a severe allergic reaction and in the use of prescribed autoinjector.
This specialised training gives teachers and caregivers the knowledge and the confidence to recognise and manage even severe forms of allergies.
CPR can be included upon request.

This course is for PE teachers, coaches of athletic after-school activities and referees. Their skills can have an important impact on how fast a student athlete can recover from an injury. In this course, participants will learn to assess and manage the most common sports injuries, drowning, asthma and allergic reactions.
And an introduction to CPR is included.
