In Switzerland, any individual or organisation can contact a road traffic authority (Strassenverkehrsämter - Services des Automobiles et de la Navigation) for information about a car owner through the car registration number (license plate). Swiss laws allow this publication.
For example, in canton Zurich, this can be done through the “eAutoindex”, an electronic service or in writing. All data are updated daily.
