BLS AED

Basic Life Support BLS courses are offered as two different courses:
BLS AED Compact and BLS AED Complete.

The basic BLS AED COMPACT course is an introductory course to the life-saving skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). By the end of the course, you will be able to alert rescue services correctly, show effective self protection, recognise and assess an unconscious casualty and determine cardiac arrest. You will be able to perform correct chest compression and mouth-to-mouth ventilation on adults and children and to incorporate a defibrillator into your resuscitation efforts.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a BLS AED Compact certificate, which is valid for two years.

Should you require a more detailed certification, the BLS AED COMPLETE course (also called BLS Complete course) is an extension of the BLS AED Compact course and covers further life saving measures. It is an immersion course and especially aims at those interested in learning further details about resuscitation. Participants learn the basic skills of resuscitation (Basic Life Support BLS) for adults, children and infants while ensuring their own safety and will practise those skills in a number of simulation scenarios to deepen their knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the course participants will know

  • the set up and numbers of the Swiss rescue services
  • the chain of survival
  • how to recognise and manage an unconscious casualty
  • how to place someone into recovery position
  • how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants older than 1 month
  • how to recognise and help in case of a heart attack
  • how to recognise and help a person having a stroke
  • how to recognise choking and how to help effectively

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a BLS AED Complete certificate, which is valid for two years.

For those requiring the BLS AED certification, a second date additional to this session will be scheduled individually. Please contact us to discuss these details.
