Basic First Aid
This Basic First Aid course gives participants the knowledge and confidence to deal with a wide variety of first aid measures and life saving skills and prepares them for the most common emergencies at home, at the workplace and in their free time.
The course consists of two parts, a life saving component and the first aid component:
- The life saving component teaches participants to recognise and manage unconsciousness, cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke and choking.
- The first aid component covers the most important injuries such as bleeding, broken bones or sprains, spinal injuries or head injuries and how to help in case of burns or electrical accidents. The course also prepares participants to recognise medical emergencies such as asthma, anaphylactic reactions, seizures, diabetes or poisoning and to start the correct first aid measures until medical professionals arrive.
This highly interactive course uses simulation to help participants immerse their skills in common emergency scenarios, including road traffic, sport or other leisure time accidents.
